Yes in magic the gathering if you haven’t found out yet some cards don’t have a color. Artifacts are usually the case for the colorless cards but some cards like Ghost Fire don’t have colors.
Artifact decks weren’t used by themselves until the mirrodin block came out. Then artifacts got a lot more popular. People started making artifact decks some are myr decks (me Zach) golem decks, and imprint decks.
Most people put at least one artifact in each of their decks. Artifacts because they’re colorless can be put in any deck and have any colored mana used to play them.
If you need extra cards in your deak or cant beat your friend because they have an advantage over your put in artifacts to fill in space or take that advantage away. And remember some artifacts are even indestructable meaning leathal dmage and destroy effects do not sent them to the graveyard!

In the card game Magic the Gathering you uphold the responsibility of a powerful wizard with the ability to summon creatures and cast magic spells of all sorts. You use mana which is memories of places you have been to. The memories of plains contributes to white mana. Same with Island for blue, Swamps for Black, Mountains for Red and forests for Green.
White mana is the mana for balance and restoration. White mana usually has abilities that heal the caster. White usually has lots of creatures with annoying abilities. Some abilities are lifelink, vigilance, and protections. If you like to deal small amounts of damage frequently and like to gain life when your opponent cant hurt you white is definitely your color.
Next is blue. Blue stands for annoying the heck out of the opponent. Blue has abilities that make your opponent go crazy!!(that why i like it Zach.) ! Blue uses abilities like Shroud, flying, and most importantly unblockable! If you like to make paranoia decks and like to mess with your opponent blue is definitely your color.
After blue is black. Black is the death and decay color. Stands for the ones that like to live forever. Black uses abilities like Landwalk, deathtouch, and regenerate. If you like to use mysterious creatures and abilities that make your opponent loose life while you gain life Black by far is a color you would like to look into.
Then running on in is Red. Red = Crazy Berserking creatures. Red uses creatures that are big and spells that deal damage and lost of it. Mostly using haste, first strike, and wither. If you like burning down your opponents then don’t hesitate red is your color.
Lastly we have green. Green is the big creatures that don’t play by the rules. Mostly uses trample, reach, and making tokens. This color is great for either swarming the enemies or just getting something big out. If you like overpowering green is your favorite choice. Just like Calvin.
Edit by Calvin: (I don’t usually use green, I usually use red. But I do have a few green decks.)
This is a general overview for all of they colors some colors share abilities so all those experienced players screaming at their computers: I’VE SEEN FLYING IN WHITE TOO I put it in blue because blue usually has flying a lot more than any other color. So next time your thinking of building a deck or your just starting out keep in mind this post to find out what colors you would like to use.
