Lets see…

June 6th, 2009

I’m going to see if I can guess what Timeshifted cards are going to be in Zendikar block and Maybe a few M10(11th edition wizards what are you thinking?!). If you don’t know what Timeshifted cards are they were released in the Future Sight set and they are “sneak peeks” of future sets! Except one card. Ill show you that junk rare in a little bit though.

Now lets check out the new abilities magic is probably going to bring in with the next 4 sets.

barufistofkrosa

One new Keyword is probably going to be Grandeur. Grandeur is on 5 cards in the future sight set I personally think that these cards are going to be in M10. It might be in one of the Zendikar sets bet I’d put my money on M10. Now what Grandeur does is it makes it so that if you have another card of the same name in your hand you can discard it and get a great effect. This one allows you to make a huge wurm creature that will help in almost any deck. The bad part about this is that all Grandeur cards (In future Sight there’s 5) are all rares. So this will be a totally useless card in limited but could make standard get a little more annoying.

Now that is the only Keyword I think that M10 will have. So I might as well tell you the Junk rare now. It is Steamflogger Boss. It was released by Wizards that it is just a 1x card that wont have “supporting cards” to make it a good card. What would be very nice is if they accidentally make some cards to help this card they have don’t it many times in the past and hopefully will do it in the future as well.

steamfloggerboss

Now for a few cards/abilities I think I’ll be in the Zendikar sets.

bladeofthesixthpride

A few cards that have low mana cost and no effect. There are a few in the Future Sight set but they might make more. I wouldn’t really like these cards because, Hey, I’d much rather have a new Exotic effect than a small card.

Now this is going to be fun in limited there are going to be a few “Changing” cards that switch a creature or aura ,etc this is going to be so much fun!

First card,

arcanumwings

See Aura swap this is going to get extremely fun using this card and do I really have to explain what this card would be good at?…no?… Gooood,

Now the next “Change” Card is:

fleshwrither

Now That is a fun card. It says if Zach has one in his zombie deck no one can beat him. Calvin knows my zombie deck works great I don’t always get the 4 mana cards I want like Zombie Warlord (something like that) Or Soulless one. This is just going to get so messed up if they make some more with 3 cards or others…

Now that I’m done with the “Change” Cards they are going to make a few Fortified Lands Check this out…

darksteelgarrison

Now I don’t know if this will be in the Zendikar sets or in a later set like 12 edition or whatever stupid name they call it… Or the set after that I’m not too sure about this card because well you see the Darksteel in the name. Darksteel was a “Keyword” in the darksteel set. Every card with Darksteel in its name was indestructible. I hope they bring this back because this will help against the huge amount of removal that they had in the SoA block.

Remember this is just a list of assumptions that I made. I’m really sure that all thees cards are going to appear in in an extremely soon block/set. Also this isn’t even close to all the cards/effects released in future sight. Please comment on you opinion and I might make another post about this.

EDIT (By Calvin): Zach, it’s spelled Zendikar, not Zandifare. I just went through the entire post fixing it every time, along with all of your other spelling errors. (To readers: If you see any spelling mistakes, leave a comment. Maybe you can get Zach to proofread his posts better than I can.)

5 top most annoying cards with haste!

May 13th, 2009

It’s Zach in the new set alot of creatures gain haste!

#5 is

igneouspouncer

Igneous Pouncer. It is great to throw one or two into the deck so when the opponent is tapped out or has no creatures just pop this guy into play and swing for 5 OR the more likly just cycle him to get yourself a despratly needed land. This guy is great for limited even though he costs a bit much…

Next for #4 is

sphinxofthesteelwind

Alot of poeple are going to be annoyed that I put this in as #4 because its a screwed up akroma angel of wrath! The this is its a 6/6 for a messed up 8 and doent have protection from the main removal color black. Dont get me wronge this is great for playing limited but if your not I’d seggest you go get an angel of wrath.

#3 in the countdown is:

madrushcyclops

Just plainly who doesnt like a 3/4 that gives evrything haste? Its a 3/4 for 4 mana=good its not monocolored=not so good But it gives your apoclyps hydra haste and all your other goody good jund cards like your dragons haste. It makes for a fun combonation!

#2 is

blitzhellion1

No matter what this card will do a great deal of damage to your opponent and lets say it gets into a decking battle this card really holds itself up to high expectations….

Now for #1————-

bloodbraidelf2

Most people are probobly saying wait? WHAT? but heres the thing, who doesnt like attacking with a 3/2 on turn four and getting a free extra spell. lets say this could be a collosal might? 7 damage turn 4?  is someone else smelling victory or is it just me? (yes this is a great combo for limited yes I used it and Yes I won the games I used it in)

Collossal might:

My Cascade Deck

May 10th, 2009

I was looking around to see what I should  post about…

I looked on the Magic the Gathering website and saw a post there about cascade and how it was developed. Click here to see

I read that and it gave me the idea to post about my cascade deck.

Just like in the post I made it so that I almost always get the card I want. I have 3 bloodbraid elfs in the deck arguably the best card in the set:

bloodbraidelf

I got 3 malestrum nexesus:

maelstromnexus

And a bounch of other cascade cards. If you didn’t know you can give a card Cascade 2 or even 4! Its insane what you can do with cascade. And because all cards in the deck exept for 6 two drops (terminate and the grand Leach thing) I always get what I want. Like in the MAgic the gathering post (offical website) I love using:

bituminousblast

Cascading into:

bloodbraidelf1

Cascading into:

terminate1

And then Killing two of calvins creatures and blocking ther third.

Also with four:

capturedsunlight

They usually start the cascades…

I dont get to use the spinx the much it costs way to much but if I do use it i usually hallarouliously (<- spelled wrong) cascade into an enlisted wurm:

enlistedwurm

Thats all for now sorry I havnt been posting verry much I couldnt find anything to post!

What 8(or 9) plainswalkers can do:

March 4th, 2009

Calvin and I were playing a game and I was going to win, I was using my plainswalker deck that has evry plainswalker exept for elspeth. So I said can we play and let me get all my plainswalkers out and use thier best – effects. So after a few turns I get the other 4 plainswalkers I didnt need out and this is what I did:  -Note- I say 8 plainswalkers because If you have two plainswalkers with the same name in the typebox they are both destroyed. Hence Agani vengent and goldmane. During this I used goldmane:

Now if you had these 8 plainswalkers:

Jace-

423a_jacebeleren_mit0w2

Chandra-

chandra_nalaar

Ajani goldmane-

423a_ajanigoldmane_txkkc5

Guruk-

garruk_wildspeaker

Liliana-

uwr3tlilianavess

Tezzeret-

tezzeret20the20seeker

Nicol Bolas plainswalker DUN DUN DUN…..-

nicol-bolas-plainswalker

Sharken Vol (fav its just so much fun!)-

sarkhan_vol2

Lastly lovly Elspeth I did not use her but this is the card and what I would have done anyway:-

elspeth_knight-errant

and you could use all thier best – effects you should do them in this order.

1: Ajani goldmane -(or Vengent If being used) you put a insanly big create/Insanly big creature into play (or with vengent you destroy all lands they control and make them helpless)

2:Chandra- Just burn them and thier creatures for 10 so they cannot block or if they have some insanly big guy like Apoclips hydra or Krosan cloud Scrapper out they will be alot easier to kill. Also you get creatures in the graveyard.

3:Nicol bolas plainswalker- Use this after chandra to destroy more creatures/permanents and get more crap into the graveyard and If your opponent is lucky they will be at 3 If not you won so you dont need to keep reading.

4:Jace- Another nice plainswalker deck them for 20 and if thier lucky (again) they will still have cards left. Yes this is another thing to set up for Vess

5:Liliana- It is time redeem all your lost creatures for a last shot at survival It will be nice to see the look on your opponents face when you do this!

6: Tezzeret-  Turn all thoes noncreature artifact creatures and wimpy artifact creatures into 5/5 killing mecs!

7:Guruk- Needless to explain make all those lovly creatures into 3/3 tramplers of death!

8:Elspeth- Use her nice all those huge things become unstoppable effect!

9:Sharken Vol- Lastly for all those who are screaming: ARE YOU AN IDIOT?! WHAT ABOUT THE DRAGONS? I gotcha! Use Sharken’s +1 effect so all those monstrosities can attack this turn and become alittle stronger and If you dont win the game after this… I pitty you!

I did do it this way because I did’nt have Elspeth but I did evrything else so f you some how get out almost all the plainswalkers to date then do it this way you will win, also NOTE: you will have alot of plainswalkers that take up most of the field dont forget one!

A weird card

October 27th, 2008

Hello! I don’t know where Zach went, but I’m here to talk about a weird card from Planeshift.

Goblin Game:

First, here’s the oracle text, because this is very small.

Each player hides at least one item, then all players reveal them simultaneously. Each player loses life equal to the number of items he or she revealed. The player who revealed the fewest items then loses half his or her life, rounded up. If two or more players are tied for fewest, each loses half his or her life, rounded up.

This card works in a very strange way. First, everyone has to find objects to hide. Be reasonable. They must be small enough to be hidden. You shouldn’t go around the house or tournament site hiding them. Hide them under a cup if you have one for everyone. If you don’t, use a piece of paper and write a number on it, and that will be your number. Make it clear what object you are hiding.

Now, when you have to count them, make sure that you don’t mix up your objects with your opponent’s objects. No sneaking one in after it’s been revealed. If there are any arguments, do it again. Now, everyone loses life equal to the number of objects they hid. Now, the player who revealed the lowest losts half of his or her REMAINING life rounded up. If it’s a tie, both lose half their remaining life. If the first part puts someone bellow 0, they don’t lose until the rest of the effect happens. For example:

Players A and B have a life total of 10.  A hides 9 objects, B hides 10. B loses 10 life, putting him at 0. A loses 9 life putting him at 1. Then, the second half of the spell resolves. A loses half of his remaining life total, roundnd UP. B now has 0 life, also. This results in a draw.

If this spell is played, and both players have 1 or 2 life, the result is an automatic draw.

The Effect Phasing

August 5th, 2008

Phasing is an effect introduced in the mirage set. Most people dont like Phasing because at the beggining of your upkeep that creature with phasing gets removed from the game, and if its removed from the game it gets put into play. I personaly (Zach) like to use this ability because its useful to get out strong creatures out in the beggining of the game is great and also getting rid of that annoying Marit Lage that I accidentally let my oppoenent get out.

Yes most of these cards are blue a few are green though.

One of these cards call teferi’s Isle is a card that you alot of mana but has lot of bad effects I dont preffer it.

There are some really good Phasing cards, and if you build a deck that has some phasing in it put these cards in!!! They are Warping Wurm and Time and tide!

REMEMBER phasing is not nearly as bad as you think!
